Yanet M. Benitez

Yanet M. Benitez was born and raised in Houston, Texas.  Ms. Benitez graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.  After graduation, Ms. Benitez returned to her hometown to attend the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, Ms. Benitez actively participated in the Interscholastic Mock Trial Team, the Hispanic Law Students Association and was the Case Notes and Comments Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law.  In May 2014, Ms. Benitez received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, graduating cum laude.  

Prior to joining Bergquist Law Firm, Ms. Benitez worked as a law clerk at a Plaintiffs law firm and interned in the 165th Harris County Civil District Court, where she gained valuable experience in personal injury and civil litigation.  Ms. Benitez is published in the Houston Journal of International Law for her comparison of educational rights in El Salvador, Japan, and the United States. 

While at Bergquist Law Firm, Ms. Benitez will focus her practice on representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. Ms. Benitez is dedicated to helping the people of her community professionally and personally.  She has volunteered for legal clinics in Houston ensuring that her community understands their legal rights.  In her spare time, Ms. Benitez
enjoys spending time with her family and watching Spanish telenovelas.
