Katy Meraz grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. Ms. Meraz received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, Ms. Meraz attended law school at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. During her law school career, she served as President of the Hispanic Law Students Association, was a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Board, and was a recipient of Judge James DeAnda 2L Scholarship and the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston’s 3L Scholarship. Additionally, Ms. Meraz received a certification from the Frank Evans Center in mediation and conflict resolution.

Prior to joining the Bergquist Law Firm, Ms. Meraz gained valuable experience working at personal injury litigation firms in the Houston area as a law clerk. Further, Ms. Meraz has experience handling a variety of multidistrict litigation claims, including drug and medical device injury claims.
