Sylvia K. Craven was born in Oakland, California and grew up in Ventura, California. Ms. Craven graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts, where she also minored in Law, Values & Policy and Psychology. After graduating, Ms. Craven attended law school at the University of Houston Law Center, where she graduated with honors in the top 30% of her class. During her law school career, Ms. Craven served as President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, as well as Senior Articles Editor on the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. Prior to joining the Bergquist Law Firm, Ms. Craven gained valuable experience working as a teaching assistant for both tort law and property law at the University of Houston Law Center.
