Shelby Huffman

Shelby Huffman was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in the North Dallas suburb of McKinney, Texas. Upon graduating high school, Ms. Huffman began her college career at Collin College, later transferring to Texas State University in San Marcos where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. After completing her undergraduate education, Ms. Huffman moved to Houston and begin pursuing a law degree at South Texas College of Law Houston. During her law school career, Ms. Huffman served as a Senior Senator on the Board of Governors of the Student Bar Association, was a committee member for the Women’s Law Society, and Associate Editor for the Texas Journal of Business Law. As an editor for the Texas Journal of Business Law, Ms. Huffman had the opportunity to publish a case note, Whose Lien is it Anyway? in the Spring 2019 issue of the publication.

Prior to joining the Bergquist Law Firm, Ms. Huffman gained valuable legal experience working at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in the misdemeanor and grand jury divisions. During this time, she prosecuted various crimes, ultimately earning her first trial win as a second-year law student. Ms. Huffman also worked in various practice areas, including intricacies of estate and probate law, business law, and the laws surrounding MUD districts and Homeowners’ Associations, at various firms in the Houston area.

In her spare time, Ms. Huffman enjoys spending time with her family and friends, catching up on her favorite tv shows, crafting, and hanging out with her Dachshund, Jeter.

Ms. Huffman is based in our Houston office.
