Scott A. Seelhoff was born in Plymouth, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in History from Michigan State University in 1986, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence (Cum Laude) form Thomas A. Cooley School of Law in 1989. Mr. Seelhoff received his license to practice law in South Carolina in 1989. He worked for 13 years as a partner in a private firm defending individuals, corporations and governmental entities in civil litigation. Mr. Seelhoff received his Texas License in 2002, and worked as staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Company before becoming the managing attorney for Affirmative Insurance Services in 2006.
Mr. Seelhoff served as Senior Staff Counsel for The Hartford Insurance company from 2009-2015, and was Managing Attorney for the Hartford from 2015-2017, overseeing all aspects of civil litigation in Texas and Oklahoma while maintaining an active trial docket. Mr. Seelhoff has litigated cases involving civil matters across a wide range of subjects, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, workplace accidents, products liability, construction defect, DTPA, Fraud, and Civil RICO. Mr. Seelhoff has tried over 200 cases to verdict, and has appeared frequently in all State courts and successfully prosecuted appeals to the State Appellate Courts, and the Federal District Court of Appeals.
Mr. Seelhoff’s personal interests include horses, bicycling, reading and traveling.
