Claire Kimutis was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. Ms. Kimutis received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. After graduating, Ms. Kimutis attended law school at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas. During her law school career, she served as an Associate Editor on the Texas Journal of Civil Liberties and Civil Rights. Ms. Kimutis represented individuals at civil commitment hearings in her school’s Meatal Health Clinic as a 2L student. In her 3L year, Ms. Kimutis served as a student attorney with the Travis County Public Defender’s Office, representing juveniles charged with criminal offenses in her law school’s Juvenile Justice Clinic.

Prior to joining the Bergquist Law Firm, Ms. Kimutis gained valuable legal experience working at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Texas Health and Human Services Commission Litigation Department.
